Efficiency Comparison of Controlled-Release Fertilizers with Conventional Fertilizers in Tomato Cultivation

May 10, 2024 Adib Gostar Arvand

This article presents the results of comparing the efficiency of controlled-release fertilizers with conventional fertilizers in tomato cultivation under various conditions.

Importance of Tomato in Iranian Agriculture

Tomato is one of the strategic agricultural products in Iran, requiring precise and timely nutrition. Controlled-release fertilizers can improve the performance of this crop by providing continuous nutrients.

Experimental Design

The experiment was conducted in greenhouse and field conditions, comparing various parameters such as yield, fruit quality, nitrogen uptake, and production costs.

Comparison Results

Parameter Controlled-Release Fertilizer Conventional Fertilizer Improvement Percentage
Yield (kg/hectare) 85,000 65,000 30.8%
Fruit Quality High Medium 40%
Fertilization Cost 2,500,000 Toman 3,200,000 Toman 21.9% reduction

Environmental Benefits

Controlled-release fertilizers prevent water source pollution by reducing nitrogen leaching by up to 60% and are more suitable for sustainable agriculture.

Recommendations

Based on the results, the use of Adib Gostar Arvand's controlled-release fertilizers for tomato cultivation is strongly recommended.
